WHAT WE OFFER YOU

·        Contract for 40 h per week with the possibility of a permanent contract;

WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the layout, spacing, and placement of steel reinforcement bars (rebar);

  • Measure, cut, bend, and shape steel bars using manual or automated tools and equipment, ensuring accuracy and precision;

  • Assemble and tie rebar together using wire, welding, or mechanical connectors to create structural frameworks and cages;

  • Install rebar cages within concrete forms, securing them in place with appropriate supports and spacers to maintain proper positioning;

  • Coordinate with concrete pourers and other construction workers to ensure timely and efficient placement of rebar within concrete structures;

  • Perform quality inspections of rebar installations, checking for proper alignment, spacing, and compliance with project specifications and safety standards;

  • Repair or replace damaged or improperly installed rebar as needed, following established procedures and guidelines;

  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe work practices;

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate work activities and address any issues or concerns that may arise during the construction process.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU

  • Proven experience as a steel fixer or rebar installer in the construction industry;

  • Strong knowledge of steel reinforcement techniques, practices, and standards;

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications;

  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools, equipment, and machinery for cutting, bending, and shaping steel bars;

  • Excellent mathematical skills for calculating measurements, angles, and dimensions accurately;

  • Physical stamina and strength to lift, carry, and manipulate heavy steel bars and equipment;

  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy and precision in workmanship;

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision;

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
