A concrete carpenter installs the concrete formwork foundations in the early stages of a building or other construction project. As a concrete carpenter, your crucial tasks include establishing the fundamental structure of buildings.

WHAT WILL
YOU DO

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints to understand panel layout and wiring requirements;

  • Select and assemble electrical components, including circuit breakers, relays, switches, and terminal blocks, according to panel design specifications;

  • Wire electrical panels according to wiring diagrams and wiring schedules, ensuring proper connections and adherence to safety standards;

  • Install and mount components within panels, including DIN rails, backplanes, and enclosure hardware;

  • Test assembled panels for functionality and troubleshoot any issues to ensure proper operation;

  • Complete documentation of panel assembly and wiring, including wiring diagrams, panel schedules, and inspection records;

  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues.

WHAT IS
EXPECTED OF
YOU

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical training program or apprenticeship in electrical panel construction preferred;

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an electrical panel builder or similar role;

  • Strong knowledge of electrical components, wiring methods, and panel assembly techniques;

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams;

  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in panel construction;

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision to ensure panel quality and functionality;

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and other stakeholders;

  • Commitment to safety and adherence to established safety guidelines and procedures.
