Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment onboard naval vessels, including power distribution systems, lighting systems, communication systems, and navigation equipment;
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify and address potential issues before they escalate, ensuring the reliability and readiness of electrical systems for mission-critical operations;
Install, upgrade, and retrofit electrical components, cables, and wiring systems according to technical specifications, blueprints, and naval regulations;
Test and calibrate electrical equipment and instrumentation to verify proper functioning and compliance with performance standards and safety regulations;
Collaborate with engineering teams, technicians, and other tradespeople to diagnose complex electrical problems, develop effective solutions, and implement repairs in a timely manner;
Operate specialized tools, equipment, and diagnostic instruments for electrical testing, troubleshooting, and repair tasks, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and procedures;
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and repair histories, documenting all work performed in accordance with naval regulations and quality assurance standards;
Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures, including compliance with hazardous materials handling, electrical safety, and fire prevention practices onboard naval vessels;
Participate in training exercises, drills, and readiness assessments to maintain proficiency and readiness for emergency response and contingency operations;
Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and teamwork, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability in support of naval operations.
Proven experience as a naval electrician or similar role in the maritime industry, preferably in a military or naval environment;
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and equipment used in naval vessels, including AC and DC power systems, switchboards, generators, transformers, and distribution panels;
Familiarity with naval electrical regulations, standards, and technical specifications, such as NAVSEA Standard Items and MIL-STD-1399;
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals to perform troubleshooting, repairs, and installations;
Certification or licensure as an electrician or electrical technician preferred, with additional training or certifications in maritime electrical systems highly desirable;
Ability to work effectively in confined spaces, at heights, and in adverse weather conditions onboard naval vessels, adhering to strict safety protocols and regulations;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex electrical issues and develop effective solutions in a dynamic operational environment;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve common objectives;
