Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine the layout, dimensions, and connections for instrumentation and control systems;
Select appropriate instrumentation components, such as sensors, transmitters, valves, and actuators, based on project requirements and operating conditions;
Set up and calibrate instrumentation devices, including pressure gauges, flow meters, temperature sensors, and level indicators, to ensure accurate and reliable measurements;
Mount and secure instrumentation devices to equipment, machinery, piping, and structural supports using mounting brackets, clamps, and fasteners;
Install and connect electrical wiring, cables, and conduits to instrumentation devices, following wiring diagrams and electrical codes;
Perform functional tests and diagnostic checks on instrumentation systems to verify proper operation and identify any issues or malfunctions;
Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation systems, including replacing faulty components, adjusting settings, and recalibrating devices as needed;
Follow safety regulations and guidelines on job sites, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to established safety protocols;
Maintain accurate records of instrumentation activities, including documentation of installations, calibrations, repairs, and test results.
Previous experience as an instrumentation fitter, instrument technician, or a related field required, with at least 3 years of experience preferred.
Proficiency in the installation, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems, including sensors, transmitters, and controllers.
Knowledge of electrical wiring, circuits, and components used in instrumentation systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Strong mathematical skills and the ability to perform accurate measurements and calculations.
Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors
