A concrete carpenter installs the concrete formwork foundations in the early stages of a building or other construction project. As a concrete carpenter, your crucial tasks include establishing the fundamental structure of buildings.

WHAT WILL
YOU DO

  • Perform flange installation, maintenance, and repair activities according to industry standards and project specifications;

  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints to determine flange specifications and installation requirements;

  • Prepare flange surfaces by cleaning, machining, and aligning as needed to ensure proper fit and seal;

  • Install gaskets, bolts, and other components in accordance with flange assembly procedures;

  • Torque flange bolts to specified values using calibrated torque wrenches and other tools;

  • Inspect flange connections for leaks, corrosion, or other damage and perform repairs or replacements as necessary;

  • Collaborate with other trades and departments to coordinate work and achieve project goals;

  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.

WHAT IS
EXPECTED OF
YOU

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a mechanical maintenance or related training program preferred;

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Flange Mechanic or similar role in an industrial setting;

  • Strong knowledge of flange installation procedures, torqueing techniques, and gasket selection;.

  • Familiarity with flange materials, specifications, and industry standards (e.g., ASME, ANSI);

  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in flange maintenance and repair;

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision to ensure quality workmanship;

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment;

  • Commitment to safety and adherence to established safety guidelines and procedures;
