Set up welding equipment, including electrode welding machines, welding rods, and protective gear, ensuring proper settings and safety measures are in place;
Prepare workpieces for welding by cleaning, degreasing, and securing them in position using fixtures or clamps;
Perform electrode welding operations to join metal components and structures, following welding procedures and quality standards;
Monitor welding parameters, such as amperage, arc length, and electrode angle, to ensure proper weld penetration and quality;
Inspect welded joints for defects, such as cracks, porosity, and incomplete fusion, and perform rework or repairs as needed;
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Strong knowledge of shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) processes, techniques, and equipment;
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols;
Familiarity with various metal materials, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel;
Ability to perform welding in various positions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead;
Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds with minimal defects;
