WHAT WILL YOU DO

Set up welding equipment, including CO2 welding machines, wire feeders, gas cylinders, and protective gear, ensuring proper settings and safety measures are in place;
Prepare workpieces for welding by cleaning, degreasing, and securing them in position using fixtures or clamps;
Perform CO2 welding operations to join metal components and structures, following welding procedures and quality standards;
Control welding parameters, such as voltage, wire feed speed, and shielding gas flow, to ensure proper weld penetration and quality;
Monitor weld pool formation and weld bead appearance to detect and correct welding defects, such as lack of fusion or excessive spatter;
Inspect welded joints for defects, such as cracks, porosity, and incomplete fusion, and perform rework or repairs as needed;
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU

Strong knowledge of gas metal arc welding (GMAW) processes, techniques, and equipment;
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols;
Familiarity with various metal materials, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum;
Ability to perform welding in various positions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead;
Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds with minimal defects;
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment;
Commitment to safety and adherence to established safety guidelines and procedure.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

Assist in the installation of trim, molding, and other decorative elements to enhance the appearance of interior spaces;

Aid in the preparation and installation of cabinetry, shelving, and other built-in fixtures according to project specifications and design plans;

Support the hanging of doors, windows, and hardware, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and functionality;

Assist with wood staining, painting, and finishing techniques to protect and enhance the natural beauty of wood surfaces;

Help with the installation and finishing of flooring materials, including hardwood, laminate, tile, and vinyl, with attention to detail and craftsmanship;

Assist in the construction and installation of custom furniture pieces, such as bookcases, benches, and entertainment centers, under the guidance of experienced carpenters;

Collaborate with other tradespeople, including electricians, plumbers, and painters, to coordinate work activities and ensure seamless project execution;

Learn to use hand and power tools, including saws, drills, sanders, and nail guns, safely and effectively to perform carpentry tasks;

Follow safety regulations and guidelines on job sites, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to established safety protocols.

WHAT WE EXPECT

Previous experience in construction or related field preferred, with exposure to finishing carpentry considered a plus;
Basic knowledge of carpentry techniques and materials, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills;
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude;
Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that may involve heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods;
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing work of the highest quality.
