Select appropriate abrasive media and adjust blasting equipment settings to achieve desired surface finish and cleanliness;
Prepare surfaces for blasting by masking, taping, or covering areas that need to be protected from abrasive media;
Monitor blasting equipment and adjust settings as needed to maintain consistent performance and quality;
Inspect surfaces after blasting to ensure they meet specified cleanliness and surface profile requirements;
Perform routine maintenance on blasting equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts;
Adhere to safety regulations and standards at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe work practices;
Keep accurate records of work performed, including blasting parameters, surface preparation standards, and material usage.
Previous experience as a blaster or in a similar role preferred;
Knowledge of abrasive blasting techniques, equipment, and materials;
Familiarity with different types of abrasive media and their applications;
Ability to read and interpret project specifications and blueprints;
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards;
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues;
Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
